SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Data Specialist II will be responsible for program data entry, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of data, and maintaining data quality standards for the IPN (Iowa Provider Network) IBHRS (Iowa Behavioral Health Reporting System) programs.
Performs skilled duties of a broad nature. Assignments may entail a wide knowledge base. Decision making, organizational skills, and critical thinking capabilities required.
Compensation: between $20.67 and $24.64 per hour (wage is based on total years of relevant experience)
Work Schedule: 20 hours per week
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma and two years of experience
- Prefer proficiency in MS Word and Excel
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- *Monitors data collection and completes reports related CCBHC and any subcontracts.
- *Learns and becomes office expert of IBHRS Data Reporting System and HFS Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- *Pulls treatment and service data into reports from EHR, formats files as needed, and submits them into IBHRS, ensuring program and technical compliance is maintained.
- *Ensures required client and program information is collected, entered, and reported in a timely manner into IBHRS including all new program entries, discharges, and updates as outlined by federal funding and internal reporting guidelines.
- *Attends all monthly and quarterly provider calls/meetings.
- *Works with fiscal staff to make sure payers are being reported correctly in IBHRS and proper documentation is obtained for CCBHC-funded clients.
- *Enters data as needed and ensures consistency of reporting between outpatient and inpatient programs.
- *Troubleshoots IBHRS reporting errors and corrects data issues within IBHRS and EHR systems.
- *Coordinates data reporting and system changes with IBHRS help desk and EHR vendor.
- *Ensures monthly, quarterly and Annual Performance Reports are ran, data quality is verified, and reports are submitted within prescribed timelines
- *Coordinates with program staff to identify and address any data quality issues.
- *Conducts training on IBHRS forms with new staff.
- *Complete assigned projects or reports requested by the IPN Program Coordinator or Program Director.
- *Assists with office management & clerical duties, including providing front desk coverage for Administrative Assistant for lunch breaks or PTO as needed.
- Utilizes trauma-informed care and culturally competent principles in providing services to clients, co-workers and visitors of the agency
- Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, and visitors of the Agency.
- Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
- Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
- Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal and external training opportunities including printed material and audio and/or visual media.
- Is able to develop positive working relationships with clients, referral sources, service agencies, and others encountered in the course of work.
- Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff, volunteers, and other Agency staff.
