Overview:
40 hrs/wk; Varied 8a-5p, M-F. This position will provide support to all hospital owned outpatient specialty clinics and Visiting Physicians Clinic on an as needed basis. Provides direct interpretation for patients, families, staff, physicians and other health care providers to ensure access to healthcare. Must be fluent and proficient in written and spoken language skills in both Spanish and English. Must be able to comprehend basic medical terminology, demonstrate verbal and written competency in both Spanish and English to be verified with language proficiency competency within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter. HS/GED required. Technical college course on interpreting skills or previous experience in medical interpreting preferred.
