Assistant Professor - Fine and Performing Arts - Music | Creighton University

The department of Fine & Performing Arts at Creighton University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor specializing in Orchestra. We seek individuals committed to being outstanding teacher-scholars within a primarily undergraduate-serving college. The successful applicant will teach a 3-3 course load that includes the string orchestra and could include 1^st and 2^nd year core courses in music theory, ear-training, music history, and conducting, as well as upper division elective courses in their area of expertise, depending on departmental needs.

Qualifications

• A D.M. or D.M.A. in Orchestral Conducting (or a closely related field) is required to be in hand by the beginning of the contract
• Ability to foster student learning, development, and decision making in support of their goals, success, wellness, and needs
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly and effectively with a diversity of population
• Empathy and compassion for the experiences of others
