Description

The Athletic Operations Assistant will assist the Director of Athletics with overseeing the day-to-day operations of a comprehensive athletics program with emphasis on facilities, event management, and community outreach/engagement.

Job Duties

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks as assigned by the Athletic Director 
  • Maintaining appropriate priorities and meeting deadlines 
  • Provides assistance to all staff to execute successful home games/meets and special events (such as region district and national championships, banquets, outside tournament, etc.).
  • Attends all assigned athletic contests and may serve as the primary athletic administrator on duty. When multiple events are taking place, collaborates with athletic administration team on event coverage.
  • Coordinates the management of event set-up & tear-down for all contests
  • Crowd control at events (traffic flow, guest services, etc.)
  • Host game officials - provide parking, locker room, escort for all game/match officials, umpires, and referees.
  • Host visiting teams - communicate with visiting teams to schedule practices, send visitors guide, assist with transportation options, etc.
  • May be responsible for emergency response at athletic events.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Athletic Director and other department staff 
  • Ability to work with large groups of individuals and one-on-one in an advising mode

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent required.    
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must have a valid driverâ??s license and qualify for insurance to drive college vehicles.  
  • Must be able to lift and operate sports and field related equipment.

Physical Demands

  • The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
  • Ability to drive company owned or personal vehicle.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
