Associate Product Owner

Physicians Mutual is hiring an Associate Product Owner to join our Enterprise Technology Group. In this role, you'll support Agile delivery teams by defining and prioritizing backlogs, refining user stories, and ensuring that what we deliver meets stakeholder needs.

You'll work closely with developers, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver applications that support our strategic goals. If you're organized, analytical, and passionate about delivering great technology solutions, this role is for you.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define features and user stories
• Prioritize team backlogs and manage scope during quarterly planning
• Accept completed user stories based on business and technical criteria
• Lead story refinement and iteration planning
• Support demos and retrospectives to drive continuous improvement

Requirements:

• 1â??3 years of experience in IT, business analysis, or product ownership
• College degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
• Exposure to Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe)
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills

Preferred:

• Knowledge of the insurance industry
• Exposure to data-driven environments and experience collaborating with Data Engineering teams is strongly preferred.
• Certifications: CSPO, CSM, SAFe, CBAP
