DescriptionI. Essential Functions: - Prints Bills of Lading on computer, enters order numbers, contacts carriers for product pickup
- Confirms orders on computer (takes product out of inventory).
- Prints packing lists and shipping labels.
- Assist with coordination to route LTL and TL shipments.
- Use transportation information systems to schedule and follow up on deliveries.
- Work within shipping department to set priorities and coordinate order flow.
- Must operate fork-lift / be able to earn fork-lift operating permit.
- Must work in order-picker capacity approximately 60 days per year, filling in for associates on vacation.
- Must pull orders, load trucks if unexpected pick-ups arrive after order pickers have gone for the day.
- Must spot-check orders for build accuracy (approx. 4 - 6x daily)
- Must build sample orders (requires repeated lifting of up to 20 lbs.). May occur up to 40x per week.
- Must build UPS / FedEx orders on regular basis. Order weights range from 13 lbs. To 60 lbs.
- Must verify inventory counts, when discrepancies arise. Involves walking inside shipping warehouse.
- Must process product returns. Involves re-packing re-usable product, weighing from 13 lbs. to 48 lbs.
- Must support keeping shipping dock clean at all times.
- This role requires strong computer skills with the ability to navigate with ease between computer software systems.

II. Job Specifications A. Experience
- 3-5 years of experience as a shipping clerk
- Familiar with trucking companies - LTL and TL rates and practices
- Exposure to routing and scheduling of loads
B. Education
- High school diploma or GED preferable
E. Supervision Received
- Supervisor works closely with employee and provides direction/guidance as needed.
- Must be dependable, self-motivated and capable of working with limited supervision.
F. Working Conditions
- Hot temperatures in summer; cold temperatures in winter
- Extensive standing, and walking necessary
- Work involves lifting weights of up to 60 lbs.
G. Confidential Data
- Must keep employee and supervisor meetings confidential.
- Must refrain from sharing information about the product with anyone outside the company.
